Painted Mailboxes for Good School Behavior!

Both of my babies will be attending school full time, starting next week.

Whoo hoo. Confetti. Streamers. Loud music and me dancing around with no “sound limits”!

While I took my little leprechaun with me to grab his school supplies this morning, we were scrounging through Hobby Lobby, and I came across these cute little cardboard mailboxes.

We were there to get a canvas bag, but left with a buggy full of goodies. (Shaking my head. That store should be off limits to me!)

Christmas is in the air… At least at my house.

I broke all the rules today. My kids are home from school. Neither had class today, and by 8AM Mommy was a crazy person, so… I did something out of the box.

I put Christmas music on the Bose and turned the tv off.

My daughter, who is right at 5, asked me what I was doing since it wasn’t even Halloween yet.  I responded with, it’s time for Christmas Cheer! We are going to write letters to Santa, clean out our old toys and clothes to donate, and if y’all (meaning both of my children. Louisiana/Southern slang) are good, we’ll make some Christmas cookies.

As you can imagine, she was quite confused. But she went with it (she’s also not feeling well, so maybe that helped). Continue reading

Halloween Fun!

I love Fall. My kids love Halloween.
I love projects and I love to let my kids do fun things and see the joy on their faces. There is nothing better than seeing your kids happy. And the simplest things make them happy.
Every year, I carve pumpkins and I love it. I love letting my kids get excited about the designs. I like getting my hands full of pumpkin guts and and roasting the seeds. I love how they look all lit up and on display.
I don’t love that they start to rot within 2 days and I don’t like that I end up finishing them alone because my babies get bored and my husband is just not into it.  🙂

Holiday Mode!

I am in “Holiday Mode” over here.

I’ve just ordered my 9 foot prelit Christmas tree.  My Halloween party menu is planned, now working on the decorations. My house is completely decorated for Fall and I’m getting our Thanksgiving menu planned. My daughter’s 5th birthday is also in November and I am in party prep mode. Menu and decor are “almost” done. And Christmas Lists are almost ready to start being checked off.

Kids Feet Ghost Canvas Art

Fall is my favorite season, but Halloween is one of my children’s favorite holidays.

Every year we have a Halloween bash, and every year it gets a little larger. This means more decorations, more people, and more food.

I love involving my kids in the crafts. They are allowed to get messy, their creativity comes out, and it’s great family time.

All That Glitters. Shatterproof Glitter Bulbs

Sorry for the length between posts, but it was a busy weekend and I had a cosmetic glitter mishap with my eye.

Christmas is right around the corner. I love Christmas! Therefore, my Christmas crafting and holiday prepping have begun.

Deciding on my tree decor, planning my menus, and getting our gift lists in order, are just a few of the things on my “To Do List”.

We are upgrading from a 7’5 foot tree to a 9′ tree this year, so of course that means I need more ornaments.
